Okanran, ki i bale ko ma se ( when Okanran, touches the earth, it always comes to past).
October 2016, preparations are on the way to return to Osooro land, Okitipupa, Ondo State, Nigeria to celebrate the Orishas amongst my people in Ikale land.
The past years had been blessed with the opportunities to grow and spread Ifa’s wisdom across the world. Our efforts are being enhanced with the opportunity to visit Trinidad and Tobago in August to celebrate Emancipation Festivals and to honour the Orishas.
Early this year, March 2016, we established one of many proposed women cooperative market centres in Osooro, Ondo State, Nigeria. Our efforts are helping women to generate needed income from the marketing of food items. We are now planning our newest project to enhance cultural preservation called Orisun Project. This project will be specifically for the enhancement of ancestral veneration.
Yoruba House Project is proposing to donate up to N100,000 (one hundred Naira ) annually, in the form of grants to families that would be celebrating Umale dance during the new year holidays 2016 in Igbotako, Osooro, Ondo State. The funds would be for the preparations and presentations of festivities. The grant would also be a form of support to families in Igbotako in order to encourage and maintain ancestral ties.
Egungun ta a daso fun ni ngbe ni.
Travelling back to Yoruba land provides the opportunity to appease the Orishas properly and to harness the right plants and ingredients for medicine needed to care for orishas’ children in the new world.
The task of preparing a home for the Orishas in Canada is being blessed and we are moving ahead steadfastly. Our Mission of preserving Yoruba heritage just as our ancestors had in the past is continuing. We are educating and blessing the children of ODUA both at home in Africa and in the diaspora with the ways needed to live fulfilling lives on earth as this is my calling as a Baba Awo.
We also continue to present sacred events, talks, and workshops, showered ancestral blessings on communities with Egungun dances at community festivals and harvest celebrations. We teach Yoruba drumming, Orisha songs and chants while sharing sacred IFA divinations with our constituents.
If you are interested in hosting or supporting our efforts, please invite us to perform at your celebrations and experience Orisha magic and blessings. We facilitate workshops on understanding the ways of the Orishas, perform libations and prayers to ancestors with Egungun. We also perform initiation to Ifa and awo Oje.
