Our 2011 offerings and celebrations for Egungun Aiyeloja would be held at
Ijiobounre Bajowa Compound at Odojomo, Igbotako, Osooro Land, Ondo State, Nigeria
Orisha Ogun celebration will also be held at Late Chief Olusegun Akarigbo (Lugbedo of Osooro land) compound at Ayila , Osooro Land, ondo State, Nigeria

Workshops
On Yoruba Spirituality
with Prince Bamidele Bajowa

This workshop would cover in- depth, the understanding of Yoruba peoples of western Nigeria and Benin, West Africa. We will explore their ways of life, history and system of belief in relation to spiritualism in the world today.Topics include different deities of the Yoruba and their special attributes as related to humans; their functions, powers and the significance of prayers to the deities. Workshops will be in the form of spiritual circle with discussions on Orishas.
EXPLORING THE WAYS OF ORISHA -Spiritual Upliftment Workshop – SERIES2
PRAYERS and INCANTATIONS– INVOKING THE ASHE WITHIN
This workshop will cover specifically prayers to different Orishas: Ogun, Eshu, Oshun,Egungun including Ori. Discussions will also include Incantations and power of Ashe as related to prayers.
Significance of items or tools required for offerings and prayers such as Obi, Otin, Orogbo etc will also be discussed..
Fee: $80:00 per day $150 for the 2 days ( Materials will be available for sale)

PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS – WORKSHOP
Learn about the History and origins of percussion instruments such as Shekere (Shakers), Agogo (Bells) and Bamboo Clappers (Panpala) as related to Yoruba Culture and Orishas worship. At this workshop, you will learn how to string your own Shekere with Beads or Cowries, plus valuable instructions on how to play your own new instrument.
Fee: $50:00 ( we will help you to find materials to buy: Gourd, thread,beads or shells)

Description
Topics include different deities of the Yoruba and their special attributes as related to humans; their functions, powers and the significance of prayers to the deities. .
Workshops will be in the form of spiritual circle with discussions on Orishas: (Eshu, Orunmila (Ifa), Oshun, Yemoja, Olokun, Oya, Ogun, Shango, Egungun). The use of Ifa Oracle (Yoruba system of divination) will be explored. Discussions would include songs, chants and drum rhythms to the orishas. Incantations and the power of words would also be discussed.

Discussion would also include but not limited to: Recognition of ones Orisha; food of Orishas; prayers and incantation; blessings of each Orisha; Taboos of the Orishas; why or why not Initiation into Orisha; receiving Orisha shrine; caring for the Orisha shrine; prayers to Ori (Head) and more.
OTHER WORKSHOPS OFFERED
Yoruba Drum Rhythms
Learn the techniques involved in creating Yoruba rhythms. This Workshop is designed as a drum circle. Different Yoruba rhythms and their use will be explored including drum communication such as call and response and drum language using Sakara, Bata, Djembe, and Kpalongo drums.
Drumming With Children: Interactive drum circle/workshop for children age 5 and up. Using Sakara, Gangan talking drums and Djembe, basic drum rhythm techniques is taught. Participants will play along to song and chants of the Yoruba people.
Talking Drums: Learn to play Yoruba talking drum from a master. Hear and feel the sound of Gangan and Sakara, learn the intricate techniques involved in creating sounds and rhythm from these ancient drums.
